Problems in the Garden

Here is my biggest problem in the garden:

I think the cause is caterpillars. They have eaten most of the stem tops and the corn was not well pollinated, at least that is my theory. Any Thoughts?

I think it’s cute! I know that’s not the comment you want… How about this: could you have picked a messier spot on the counter for that picture??

No idea about why it’s so tiny. That’s your area of expertise, so you got me!

  2. Tina...I really don't know gardens, but thought I'd check out your site. on November 11th, 2007 10:33 pm

I’m assuming you already know way more that me, but did you plant enough corn for proper pollination? We tried one year and were told we had to do at least four rows squared.
    That’s my only thought.

I think that is probably part of the problem. I planted them in mounds with squash and beans, like the Pima used to, but I only did one row of mounds, and probably should have planted them in a block of 3 or 4 rows of mounds. I’ll try that next time. Thank you for the info.
