Sarah Lawshe’s Will
In
the name of God Amen.
I Sarah Lawshe of the Township of Franklin in
the County of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey being of sound mind memory and
understanding for which blessing I do thank God do make publish and declare
this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say,
First:
it is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfyed as soon as conveniently can be don after my decease and as to my Wourldy
Estate in which it has pleased God to bless me I do dispose of the same in the
following manner.
Item:
I give and bequeath to my Beloved Daughter Rachel Somerbell
one third of all my money which is all now secured in notes Bonds &
mortgages as otherwise Should She not survive me then to her children.
Item
2nd: I give and bequeath in like manner one third of all moneys as aforesait to my Well beloved
Daughter Fanny V Armesbury.
Item
3rd: I give and bequeath the remaining one third to the children of
my late Son John Lawshe Viz:
Joseph Albert Abraham & Samuel and my son Jacob Lawshe
my four grand Sons above named taking the one sixth and my son Jacob taking the
remaining one sixth. Should my son Jacob
Lawshe not live to survive me it is my will and I do
order and direct my executor whence I shall hereafter name to pay the Share
which I have bequeathed to him to his surviving Children Share and Share alike.
Item
4th: I give and bequeath to my Daughter Fanny V. Armesberry
one dozen silver table spoons also to Jacob Lawshe my
silver fish knife. I give and bequeath
the remainder of my silver ware to my two Daughters Viz
Fanny V. Armesbury and Rachal
Somerbel to be equally divided between them. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Fanny
one bed & suit she to take her choise. I give and bequeath all my wearing apperral to my daughter Rachal.
Item:
I give and bequeath my gold watch and chain to my Grand Daughter Sary Somerbell. It is my will and I do desire all my parlor
furniture to remain as it is and where it is as long as my Husband and my
daughter Fanny resides together.
Item:
all Legacies to which I may fall heir It is my will
that such Legacies be equally divided between my children or their heirs.
The
several Bequests and Legacies above bequeathed to my Daughter Rachel Somerbell it is the true intent and meaning that if any
part remains at her death it is my will the same be equally divided between her
children Share and Share alike.
It
is my will that the division of my Estate be mad untill
the Expiration of one year from my decease and the interest accruing there on
to be appropriated to the payment of my funeral Expenses.
Lastly
I hereby Constitute and appoint my two Daughters Rachel Somerbell
and Fanny V Armsbury executors to this my last will
and testament.
