Sarah Tippett’s Will
In the name of God amen. I Sarah Tippett of the County of Fauquier and State of Virginia being weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory for which? desire? to be thankful and calling to mind the uncertainty of Human life Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die and being desirous to dispose of my worldly Estate it has pleased God to bless me with do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following: I give and bequeath my woman Rose whom I bought of John Fox and her children namely Charles, George, Eliza, Mary, Caroline and Edmond and all the increase of her and hers to my beloved children. James Tippett and Elizabeth Tippet have their choice of a horse a piece, a ? & calf a piece, one bed and furniture a piece and the balance of the Estate it hath pleased God to bless me with of all and every kind whatsoever my will and desire is that it be equally divided among and between all my children and there representatives, namely Elizabeth, Mary, James, Catharine, Nancy, William, John and Sarah to be and belong to them and their heirs forever. And for the full completion of this my last will and testament, I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved son James Tippett sole Executor hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this as my last. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 3rd day of April in the year of our Lord 1828.
