{"id":129,"date":"2008-11-08T16:16:48","date_gmt":"2008-11-08T23:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amosfamily.net:8181\/?p=129"},"modified":"2008-11-08T19:10:09","modified_gmt":"2008-11-09T02:10:09","slug":"an-arizona-adventure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amosfamily.net\/?p=129","title":{"rendered":"An Arizona Adventure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday I embarked on a statewide adventure. \u00a0I had jobs in five little towns mostly along the edges of the state. \u00a0I started in Superior, went to 3-Way, a small town between Duncan and Clifton, then up to Alpine, then Many Farms, and finally Fredonia. \u00a0I snapped a few photos along the way.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is the entrance to Clifton. \u00a0They really do have working gates that can close on the roaway, the tracks, and the sidewalk. \u00a0Why? Graham, above Safford. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0488.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Mountain Overlook\" src=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0488.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is Alpine. \u00a0Actually the entire town is in the one photo. \u00a0There are quite a few cabins on the outskirst of town up in the forest area, but this is the townsite.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0489.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Alpine, AZ\" src=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0489.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The lake in Alpine, I don&#8217;t know what its called.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0492.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Lake in Alpine\" src=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0492.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is the view from the place I was working.  There were elk around the pond when we got there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0493.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Elk Pond\" src=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0493.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are rocks sticking up all over the place on the Indian Reservation.  Especially by Kayenta.  I did go by Canyon de Chelly, but didn&#8217;t have time to stop and take a photo.  Next time.  Here is one of those crazy rocks.  I think it&#8217;s called Church Rock.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0508.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Church Rock\" src=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0508.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is the last photo.  At least the last interesting photo.  This is a coal elevator, like a grain elevator, but for coal.  It has a pipeline that goes all the way to the mine, it crosses above the road left of the photo.  On the other side of the elevator are some train tracks.  Electric train tracks going to a huge power plant in Page. I&#8217;d include a photo but it was getting dark and I didn&#8217;t want to stop, and look like a terrorist taking a picture of one of the most important power plants in the country.  You never know what people are going to think.  Anyway I did take a photo or two, but they were quite blurry.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0509.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Coal Elevator\" src=\"http:\/\/media.amosfamily.net\/img\/DSCF0509.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hope you enjoyed the show.
